Inspired by the shirt worn by Jim Carrey in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994).
Built around a travel-poster collage on pale blue: palm groves, a hotel skyline, red blossom on bare branches and blocks of hard orange, cut into diagonal panels that run into each other rather than sitting in frames. Illustrated figures are worked into the scenes in the style of forties tourist artwork, which is where the whole print takes its language from. Printed edge to edge — the pattern runs across the collar, the sleeves and the back.
The first one, from the film that started the whole shirt.
Cut from a lightweight 95% polyester / 5% spandex weave with an open Cuban collar, short sleeves and a relaxed body. Dye-sublimated so the print sits in the fibre rather than on top of it — no surface texture, no cracking. Finished with a straight hem, a clean chest and off-white buttons. A small TropiScene mark hidden in the artwork.
Relaxed fit, true to size. Prefer a more fitted look? Size down.
