Screen Accurate ACE VENTURA Hula Bloom Hawaiian Shirt

Inspired by the shirt worn by Jim Carrey in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994).

Built around an oversized hibiscus repeat on black: blooms in coral, marigold and turquoise with long stamens and fine white veining, green palm leaves running behind them. Small illustrated hula figures are set into the gaps between flowers, drawn in the same vintage line as the rest of the print. The black ground holds all three brights apart, which is what stops a print this saturated from turning muddy. Printed edge to edge — the pattern runs across the collar, the sleeves and the back.

The apartment scene shirt — the one with the animals.

Cut from a lightweight 95% polyester / 5% spandex weave with an open Cuban collar, short sleeves and a relaxed body. Dye-sublimated so the print sits in the fibre rather than on top of it — no surface texture, no cracking. Finished with a straight hem, a clean chest and off-white buttons. A small TropiScene mark hidden in the artwork.
