Inspired by DOC BROWN Back to the Future Hawaiian Shirt

Inspired by Doc Brown and the flying time train from Back to the Future Part II. In Back to the Future II, Doc Brown wears a shirt with people on horseback chasing a train, which is the plot of BTTF III.

Built around a hand-painted style repeat: a long streamlined engine riding a bank of cloud, dragging streaks of magenta and violet behind it, set against a yellow crescent moon and a pair of winged goggles. The motifs sit loose on an off-white ground and shift position row to row, so the surface keeps moving rather than settling into a grid. Printed edge to edge — the pattern runs across the collar, the sleeves and the back.

Loud enough to hold up as a holiday shirt on its own, specific enough that the right person will name it from across the room.

Cut from a lightweight 95% polyester / 5% spandex weave with an open Cuban collar, short sleeves and a relaxed body. Dye-sublimated so the print sits in the fibre rather than on top of it — no surface texture, no cracking. Finished with a straight hem, a clean chest and off-white buttons. Finished with a small TropiScene mark hidden in the artwork.
